What is with Tupperware Storage!?

We are all guilty.
Unless you are a neat freak… or a Virgo.
Before we decided to create DIY Shelving product, we were busy visiting homes on renovation calls. That was our business; we worked long, hard hours under any condition. Anyways, our clients were opening their doors and letting us into a very personal space of their home: the Kitchen.
You can tell a lot about someone by their kitchen and what they store there. Some people haven’t cleaned their floors since the 80’s… and some people have collected every plastic container they transported their restaurant leftovers back home in.
Mis-matched lids, stained containers, elastic bands everywhere!!!
I‘m sure there’s a psychological diagnosis for this type of tupperware hording behavior, but we’re not doctors so we will leave that to the professionals… WE ARE Renovators.
When we helped clean out cupboards and drawers for renovation jobs, EVERY SINGLE TIME the homeowner would act surprised (and embarrassed) at their dis-organization.
Homeowners sometimes think of the aesthetics first and foremost, and functionality second. It was our job to educate the client on the possibilities… and what ended up happening was a complete retrofitting of these spaces. Two members on our team have backgrounds in carpentry and would build side-mounted rolling shelves. We’d buy kits at local hardware stores and even tried ordering from gliding shelf companies. 99% of the time our guys would have to make modifications and invent shelf designs to cater to the homeowners storage needs… and this is where the idea of Miracle Shelves was born.
Miracle Shelves is the product of our countless hours constructing accessible storage spaces for our clients. There is no company in the USA that offers high-end shelving with extraordinary mounting options.
If you can’t reach it, you forget about it…
Our clients needed to reach the inaccessible areas of their tupperware storage. We tested many versions of sliding shelves and ended up designing the Baltic Birch Shelving with guided Steel Rails. Sometimes we included a wall divider (and they will be offered in future kits because they are just awesome!).
This had two positive effects on kitchen storage:
- Organization: out of sight out of mind? When homeowners forget about the Tupperware product they stored deep in their shelf, they neglect it. Now, they can pull out the shelf and see it all. If there are containers they don’t use or need, it quickly becomes apparent and they can dispose of them.
- Convenience: rolling shelves save time and give easy access to typically unaccessible areas of storage. Put things back where you found them – no more tossing or cramming lids and containers together! You can stack everything neatly… if that’s your MO.
