Chipped and broken wine glasses… and one creative repair job.
After we removed our old cabinets — we needed to find storage for our glassware.
YOU KNOW the cabinets I am talking about: wooden with a glass window doors, glass shelving, and contain expensive water jugs and stuff you rarely use… and we gave these cabinets away not because they weren’t beautiful or sentimental (they were both), but we just needed the space.
My husband would always make me grab the wine glasses for dinner because he said it was like a game of operation! We threw out a lot of wine glasses with chipped rims and snapped stems… we lost a lot of good soldiers.
We tried steel hanging wine racks but it was tough to locate a spot out of the way from busy, swinging arms and children standing on chairs reaching for things. We also tried stemless glasses but they just didn’t bring the traditional feel, so we saved them for outdoor/patio use only.
As we rolled out (pardon the pun) our DIY pull out shelf kits this year, the answer to our wine glass storage woes was right in front of our noses.
